Detransitioners Speak Out at CMA’s Annual Educational Conference

Friday, September 6 was a powerful and sobering day for attendees at the Catholic Medical Association’s 93rd Annual Educational Conference as they heard from seven brave young adults who have been irreversibly harmed and regret their sex transition. Two panel sessions hosted by CMA members Drs. Patrick Hunter and Carla Falco allowed for all guests to tell their stories. Detransitioners Invited to Address Medical Conference for the First Time

Seven young adults who were irreversibly harmed and regret their sex transition will speak at the Catholic Medical Association’s 93rd Annual Educational Conference (AEC). The AEC is taking place in Orlando at the Caribe Royale Hotel and Conference Center today through September 7. It will be the first medical conference to host people who have been harmed by gender medicine. Orlando Guild Finds New Leadership to Continue Its Legacy

By Nadia Smith When beloved Orlando  Catholic Physicians Guild President Dr. Lance Maki suddenly passed away two years ago, the Guild became inactive in his absence. Florida CMA President Dr. Diane Gowski, moved to help restore the Guild to honor her late friend, who had worked hard to build the Orlando Guild. Thanks to those efforts and the ‘yes’ of key physicians, the Guild, under the patronage of Mary, Mother of Mercy, has been re-established. Much to Be Grateful For at CMA

The 10th National Eucharistic Congress occurred in Indianapolis in July 2024 – What a gift for the Catholic Church in the United States! CMA Member Dr. Christina Chan hosted a CMA exhibit booth at the Congress and made our presence known to the tens of thousands of participants. Several CMA members attended and walked together at the Eucharistic Procession in downtown Indianapolis. Living and Dying for the Truth

Fr. Christopher Kubat, M.D., Fr. Harlan Waskowiak and Fr. Daniel Rayer at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, where they offered Mass in the Slipper Chapel near the Basilica. Last month, I traveled to the UK with a couple of priest friends, Fr Daniel Rayer and Fr. Harlan Waskowiak. CMA Applauds the American Society of Plastic Surgeons for Questioning Gender Surgical Treatments

The Catholic Medical Association (CMA) applauds the recent statements from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) published in City Journal regarding the treatment of gender dysphoria in adolescents. CMA agrees with ASPS that “there is considerable uncertainty as to the long-term efficacy for the use of chest and genital surgical interventions for the treatment of adolescents with gender dysphoria,” and that “the existing evidence base is viewed as low quality/low certainty.” CMA understands that these patients are indeed suffering and deserve the most compassionate and best medical care, as was noted in CMA’s Position Paper, The Ideology of Gender...
