Much to Be Grateful For at CMA
August 19, 2024 4:46 pmThe 10th National Eucharistic Congress occurred in Indianapolis in July 2024 – What a gift for the Catholic Church in the United States! CMA Member Dr. Christina Chan hosted a CMA exhibit booth at the Congress and made our presence known to the tens of thousands of participants. Several CMA members attended and walked together at the Eucharistic Procession in downtown Indianapolis.
This reminds us, as members of the Catholic Medical Association, to find ways to increase our Eucharistic Life. As Fr. Jean-Baptiste Chautard tells us in The Soul of the Apostolate, “The good results obtained by the apostolate correspond invariably to the degree of Eucharistic Life acquired in the apostle. For the success of our mission, we should have appeared not only upright, convinced men, but also glowing with the radiance from the Blessed Eucharist.”
During the annual Leadership Training Meeting and Medical Student and Resident Boot Camp in June, National Chaplain Father Christopher Kubat led those in attendance in on our own Eucharistic procession on the grounds of the University of St. Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary in Illinois. It was the highlight of our time together in Mudelein!
Also this past month, CMA co-sponsored a webinar titled, “Why abortion isn’t for Woman’s Health” along with CHCLA Public Policy & Advocacy Institute, The Pro-Life Secretariat of the Unites States Conference of Catholic Bishops, and the Christ Medicus Foundation. This webinar is important because many people are confused about some of the facts in the abortion debate, asking questions like: Is it really true that abortion is not necessary to save the life of a woman? This webinar dispels the myths and helps anyone have a true understanding of the issues surrounding abortion and authentic women’s health care.
Now we look to September, when Conference Chair Dr. Felix Rodriguez and his committee will welcome us to Orlando, FL for the 93rd Annual Educational Conference (AEC) themed, Imago Dei/ Made in His Image: Male and Female He Created Them. Dr. Rodriguez and his team have a powerful AEC planned dealing with the most pressing medical issues of today. For those who have not registered, please reserve your spot now. It will be a joyful time together and I look forward to seeing you there!
Blessings,
Michelle Stanford
