The theme for this month is The Mystery and Miracle of Healing. Registration is now open for our 95th Annual Educational Conference. The theme is Mysteries and Miracles: Restoring the Practice of Medicine to Heal the Whole Person, and it will be held September 10-12, 2026 in Phoenix, Arizona. See you there!

The Church dedicates the month of July to The Most Precious Blood of Jesus. This image is from the Holy House Chapel of the National Blue Army Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima and was the vision given to Sister Lucia when Our Lady appeared to her in 1929 with the Blessed Trinity, asking for the consecration of Russia to Her Immaculate Heart. We suggest reciting the Litany of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus found here or repeating this short prayer of St. Faustina: O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of mercy for us, I trust in you! (Diary, 84)

In the appearance of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel (7/16) to St. Simon Stock, a Carmelite prior, on this date in 1251, she gave him the brown scapular with the promise to assist anyone wearing it with devotion at death to avoid eternal damnation. As a sacramental, it is an external sign of Our Lady’s love for us. Read more here.
Saint Sharbel Makhluf, OLM (7/24), one of the patrons of the annual conference, has had more than 33,000 miracles attributed to him. A Lebanese Maronite monk and priest, he lived an ascetic life of strict fasting, hard work and intense prayer from 1828 to 1898. After death, the miracles began and his body remained perfectly incorrupt, flexible, and warm to the touch for 67 years while continuously exuding a fragrant, healing oily fluid that soaked through multiple coffins and tombs. Let’s pray for his intercession for the ongoing conflict in Lebanon.

Saints Martha, Mary and Lazarus are remembered on July 29. As close friends of Jesus, they provided hospitality and support for Christ and His Apostles. The raising of Lazarus from the dead, four days after burial when corruption had set in, was Jesus’ final great miracle meant to change the hearts of the Jewish leaders who hated Him. The hardest of hearts instead hated Goodness all the more. We should not be surprised when people oppose the good we do.
