May 3, 2025 was a special day for the International Federation of Catholic Medical Associations (FIAMC) because it was the day that the organization and members from around the globe were consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Paris. Seventy members attended in person, while others joined through prayer form their homes.
The day began with a morning of reflection that was put together by Dr. Bernard Ars, President of FIAMC, and Dr. Côme Bommier, President of the French association Soignants et chrétiens (Caregivers and Christians) held at the Hall of the French Episcopal Conference.

Speakers included CMA member and vice president of FIAMC, Dr. John Lane, who spoke on Recovering the Christian Foundations of Western Medicine.
Following the presentations the reading of the Consecration Prayer took place in the Bishops’ Chapel in the Hall of the French Episcopal Conference.
In the afternoon, a tour of the Notre Dame Cathedral was given in English for all the English-speaking attendees. FIAMC members then attended 5 PM Vespers and the 6 PM Vigil Mass in the Cathedral. Past President Dr. Craig Treptow, the current North America Federation president of FIAMC, was also in attendance.
“It was an extraordinary blessing to be able to attend the event, to consecrate our organization to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and to conclude with Holy Mass in the newly restored Notre Dame Cathedral,” said Dr. John Lane. “We received correspondence from our members all over the world who could not attend in person notifying us that they were with us in prayer and joined us from afar in reciting the Prayer of Consecration on this special day.”
